Laser Hair Removal is one of the most commonly requested cosmetic treatments. Diolaze is a new generation laser hair removal device by InMode, which offers fast and permanent hair removal. An in-built cooling system helps to make this a comfortable and effective procedure.
What is Diolaze?
Diolaze is an advanced laser hair removal procedure that safely and gently eliminates unwanted hair. Diolaze has one of the largest treatment spot sizes, making treatments convenient and fast.
How does Diolaze work?
During laser treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The energy from this then heats up the root of the hair, destroying the hair follicle, which in turn prevents future hair growth.
Does it hurt?
Diolaze has a built in skin cooling surface (3PC Cooling)which is one of the largest for all hair removal devices. This makes treatment more comfortable than other devices, with most patients noting that Diolaze is virtually painless. Patient comfort is one of the reasons this treatment is so popular.
Why do I need multiple treatments to achieve hair removal?
As with all laser hair removal methods, Diolaze requires a series of treatments. Laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their mature stage, however, at any given time, your hair is in various stages of growth. This means that some hair follicles will not be active at any given time, so will not be picked up by the laser. As a result, multiple sessions are always required with laser hair removal to ensure a long term or indeed permanent result.
How many session are required?
With each treatment, hair is reduced and best results are observed after four to six treatment sessions at our skin clinic. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair colour, hair type, body treatment area, and skin tone.
Which areas of the body can be treated?
Diolaze can be safely used by women and men with minimal discomfort on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair. Most commonly treated areas include: bikini area, legs, arms, underarms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin and sideburns.

Laser has consistently been shown to be superior in providing long term results with lower risk of side effects versus older IPL devices. This is because laser hair removal systems are more targeted and specific to hairs generally as only one wavelength of light is created by the device. IPL creates multiple wavelengths which can interact with other targets in the skin.
It is always advised that you have not had any sun exposure for at least 3 weeks prior to any laser hair removal treatment, to avoid the risk of pigmentation changes and burns to the skin. In addition, it is advised that you do not wax any area being treated prior to your appointment. Shaving an area is permitted but this will be done in-clinic generally, prior to your treatment.
Immediately post-treatment you can go back to normal life generally. Your skin may feel a little more sensitive so it is important not to use any harsh products (such as skincare containing acids) on the skin or expose it to high temperatures. Very occasionally, patients may experience minor pimples in the areas treated. This is not acne but instead relates to the body clearing the dead hair follicle.
It is advised that you do not have any sun exposure to any treated area for at least 3 weeks following laser hair removal.
Yes - we always advise on having a patch test prior to starting any laser hair removal course. This is to determine both your skin’s reaction to the treatment and also which settings to use.
Diolaze laser hair removal technology has been shown to be safe in Fitzpatrick Skin types 1 to 6. For darker skin types, lower settings often need to be used which may result in a higher number of treatments being required.
