Profhilo is a fantastic new anti-ageing and hydrating treatment that delivers a super-boost of hyaluronic acid deep into our skin, creating a firmer, plumper looking complexion with subtly powerful results. Profhilo treatment is particularly effective in conjunction with fillers and botox.

What is Profhilo?

As we age, our skin becomes thinner and looses its natural elasticity, leaving skin looser and causing wrinkles. Over time, collagen and elastin levels drop in the dermis of the skin, often accelerated by sun damage and other factors. Profhilo is a new-generation injectable biostimulation treatment containing hyaluronic acid that helps to rebuild the lost collagen and elastin in the dermis caused by the ageing process. At our clinic, both Dr. David Jack and Dr. Jo Mennie use Profhilo treatment as a natural skin enhancer, to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines, plump and hydrate the skin and create a naturally glowing, youthful complexion. It has regularly been voted the best new anti-ageing treatment by press, including the Times and Tatler, and is ideal for those wishing renewed firmness and elasticity.

The benefits of Profhilo include deep skin hydration, the smoothing out of fine lines and wrinkles, the boosting of collagen and elastin levels and dermal remodelling over time. Your complexion will appear healthy, hydrated and glowing. Unlike dermal fillers, which are also made from hyaluronic acid but tend to stay in the place they are injected, Profhilo spreads within the skin to treat the whole face (or neck, or indeed any other area in the body), giving an overall refreshed appearance to the skin itself.

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo® treatment boosts and stimulates four different types of collagen and elastin, remodelling and boosting the deep supporting dermis layer of the skin. It contains a high dose of Hyaluronic Acid (64mg/2ml), a substance that occurs naturally in our bodies and is key to our skin remaining hydrated. When Profhilo is injected, our skin is rehydrated from the inside and over the following 3-6 months post-procedure, the cells producing collagen and elastin are stimulated, for a longer term result restoring the overall quality, tightness and smoothness of your skin.

£450 per syringe (used for one ‘area’) each area should be treated twice, approximately 4 weeks apart so total treatment cost per ‘area’ would be £900.

What happens at the appointment?

Dr Jack will apply a topical local anaesthetic cream to numb the key areas on your face. There are five injection points on either side of the face which ensures an even distribution of the product. You shouldn’t feel any discomfort during or after your appointment.

Is downtime required after the treatment?

You may have a small swelling at the injection points after the appointment but these will subside within 24 hours. There may also be a small amount of bruising on the treatment area but can be covered up with make up and will fade quickly a few days after treatment.

How many treatments do I need?

Usually two sessions are required, spaced one month apart. A third treatment is often undertaken by some patients who have particularly lax skin.

How quickly can I see results with Profhilo treatment?

Results can be seen from one week with the optimum effect visible one month after your treatment. Lifting and tightening of the skin will be evident over the longer term (3-6 months).

How long does Profhilo last?

The effects last approximately 9 months to 1 year

Can Profhilo be combined with other treatments?

Profhilo works particularly well with other anti-ageing treatments. Used in conjunction with fillers and botox, it can help to refresh your complexion and give the perfect glow to your face, reducing signs of ageing.

To get the best possible natural anti-ageing results, Dr David Jack takes an holistic approach to beauty, treating your face as a whole, rather than isolating certain areas. Profhilo is effective on its own but when used in conjunction with other skin rejuvenation treatments it can achieve excellent anti-ageing results.

Dr Jack would be delighted to discuss your requirements and create a personalised treatment package tailored specifically for you.

What parts of the body can Profhilo be used on?

Profhilo® injectable treatment can be used to treat the face, neck, décolleté, hands, knees or elsewhere on the body where there is skin laxity.
